Video games don’t make you kill

catcher in the rye Earlier in the week, there was a shooting in DC. Twelve people were killed by a mad man, and before they even got to the evening news, there were reports of violent video games. So what?

Dianne Feinstein hates freedom

first amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Pretty simple, right? Most of us see the First Amendment as a wonderful thing. Dianne Feinstein sees it as a challenge.

Humanitarian War?

Humanitarian War

I saw where a blogger pose this thought problem in relation to Syria:

A brilliant transplant surgeon has five patients, each in need of a different organ, each of whom will die without that organ. Unfortunately, there are no organs available to perform any of these five transplant operations. A healthy young traveler, just passing through the city the doctor works in, comes in for a routine checkup. In the course of doing the checkup, the doctor discovers that his organs are compatible with all five of his dying patients. Would it be morally permissible for the doctor to murder the traveler and use his organs to save the other five patients?

The Trial of George Zimmerman

george_zimmerman

We have a beautiful thing included in our constitution for those accused of a crime. You see, our constitution dictates that when you are accused of a crime, you are considered innocent until you are proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. George Zimmerman wasn’t that lucky though. Even though our constitution makes him innocent until the completion of the trail, everybody seems to have forgotten about those rights.

Wines & Spirits

PA alcohol laws suck

One of the reasons this is so, is because of our “Wines & Spirits” stores. In PA, as well as a few other states, you cannot buy alcohol except in specific highly regulated locations. All wine or liquor sales have to go through our state owned Wines & Spirits stores. Beer has to be purchased from either a bar or restaurant that is licensed to serve alcoholic beverages, or a distributor. It’s a huge hassle and makes just getting a six pack or fifth of something when you have a few friends coming over on short notice a huge hassle.

Lauryn Hill is a racist

Lauryn Hill is a Racist

Lauryn Hill thinks black people are stupid.

I know what you are thinking, “That’s racist, and Lauryn Hill isn’t the least bit racist at all!” But that’s pretty much what she said. You see, Lauryn Hill was recently sentenced to three months in jail for not paying close to a million dollars in taxes to the federal government. Her excuse for not paying?

#AnswerTheQuestionJim

Jim Carey You may remember Jim Carrey from those movies that you used to find hilarious, or from that picture of him in a women’s bathing suit with his then significant other Jenny McCarthy, and probably not much else in recent years. That was until it was announced that he would be starring in Kick-Ass 2 as gun toting vigilante Colonel Stars and Stripes. Who wouldn’t want to see this former funny man as a crazy super hero. It worked with Nick Cage, so why not Jim Carey?
