Universal’s Shared Monster Universe

Universals Avengers

Universal has stated that they want to make a “Shared Universe” for their monsters.  This could be a good thing, or a very bad thing.

Deadpool movie footage

Did you see the Deadpool test footage that was leaked yesterday?  Well, the footage was officially released, so you didn’t get a chance to watch the crappy cam  footage, or if you did and want to see a better version, here it is.

Now someone tell Fox to get off their asses and make this damn movie already.

Please don’t make a Black Panther movie

Black Panther 01

Everybody seems to be excited for a Black Panther movie.  “He’s like an African Wolverine” or “We need more black super heroes”, are the two main reasons I’ve heard people say that they are excited about it.

Deadpool Motion Comics

I saw Scion and Meridian on a shelf way back in 2004 or 2005, and since they were pretty cheap, I picked both up, then came back for volume 2 of each. Then someone make a nice Deadpool belt buckle. That’s all I’m asking for, a movie, action figures, and a belt buckle…

There is finally going to be a Lego Marvel game

Yesterday, Lego announced that they’re finally making a Lego Marvel game.  Looking at the official image they released, we’ve got the whole range of characters from X-Men, to Avengers, to Deadpool.

The Superman Problem

What would happen if X fought Y?  It’s a terrible question when dealing with comics because the only correct answer is, “Who is writing and what does the story call for?”  It doesn’t matter who the two fighters are, whether it’s Superman versus another high powered character like Goku, or someone without powers, like the Punisher, or even Deadpools geriatric “friend” Blind Al.

These conversations will always devolve into some kind of comic book version of Deadliest Warrior, with each side reviewing the powers of each character and trying to quantify them into some kind of real world numbers, and applying real world physics to comic books to get a winner.

One of the characters that is almost always sure to cause a problem in discussions like this is Superman.  Why is this?  What makes Superman so special?  Well, let’s look at a few things that he’s done in the past.
